CrimeStoppers has been notified of an unknown suspect captured on video surveillance committing felony Burglary and felony Theft of Property crimes.

Incident Offense reports indicate that between January 17 through February 17, 2020 an unidentified male is responsible for stealing over $17,000.00 worth of landscaping equipment and assorted tools from locked storage containers. The reports indicate that the suspect or suspects forced their way into the storage units and stole the property.

CrimeStoppers has released a video showing an unknown male tampering with a security camera. The suspect did not realize that he was captured on film before he disabled the camera.

MPD Investigating Fatal Traffic Crash

MONTGOMERY —The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a Sunday morning traffic collision that resulted in one fatality.

On Sunday, March 01, 2020 at about 1:43 AM, MPD and Fire Medics responded to the intersection of Vaughn Road and the Eastern Blvd on a two-vehicle traffic collision. At the scene, they located a 2016 Hyundai Sonata with one occupant who sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The second vehicle, a 2017 Ford T250, was occupied three times. The driver and one passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The third occupant, a passenger, David Mimms, 54 of Montgomery sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The initial investigation indicates the 2016 Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound on Vaughn Road and the 2017 Ford T250 was traveling northbound on the Eastern Boulevard when they entered the intersection and collided. At this time, there is no additional information available for release in connection with this continuing investigation.

MPD Charges Suspect in January Homicide

MONTGOMERY —The Montgomery Police Department has charged a suspect in the January shooting death of Brandon Zeigler, 30, of Montgomery.

MPD charged Jeffery Sanders, 38, of Montgomery with murder. Sanders was taken into custody in early February out of state and was extradited today by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

On Friday, Jan. 17, shortly before midnight, MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 2800 block of Vaughn Road in reference to a subject shot. There, they located Zeigler who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MPD’s investigation indicates that the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that escalated. Further investigation identified Sanders as the suspect. No additional information is available for release in connection to this continuing investigation.

Note: A criminal charge is an accusation. The defendant is assumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

MPD Investigating Fatal Traffic Crash

MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Police Department is investigating the death of Angela Calloway, 53, of Titus as a hit-and-run fatality. Calloway was located at about 9:15 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, in the wood line of I-85 Southbound between Forest Avenue and Union Street.

MPD and Fire Medics responded to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead. MPD’s investigation indicates that Calloway was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. MPD’s investigation is continuing, and no further information is available for release at this time.

CrimeStoppers: Montgomery Police Searching for Bank Robbery Suspect

The Montgomery Police Department has notified CrimeStoppers of a bank robbery that occurred on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at approximately 10:00 a.m.  No injuries were reported.  The suspect is still at large.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a red shirt, red hat, and clear glasses.  The suspect entered the business and handed the clerk a note.

No other information was released.

MONTGOMERY —The Montgomery Police Department has arrested a suspect in the January shooting death of Tametrius Richards, 25, of Montgomery.

MPD charged Anthony Stoddard, 26, of Montgomery with murder. Stoddard was taken into custody today by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

MPD Investigating Fatal Traffic Crash Involving Pedestrian

MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash that resulted in one pedestrian fatality.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at about 6 p.m., Montgomery Police and Fire Medics responded to the 2800 block of East South Boulevard in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian, Harold June, 36, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where he was pronounced dead on Feb. 4. The driver and passengers of the vehicle, a 2005 Ford Escape, were not injured.

MPD’s investigation indicates that the Ford was traveling west bound on the Boulevard when the pedestrian entered the lane of travel and was struck. There are no charges anticipated. The investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing, and no further information is available for release at this time.

MPD Conducting Death Investigation Following Fatal Sunday Shooting

MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Police Department is conducting a death investigation following the fatal shooting of an adult male that occurred on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

At about 6 p.m., MPD Patrol and Fire Medics responded to the 4000 block of L.H. Hamilton Road in reference to a subject shot. There, MPD located an adult male who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MPD Conducting Homicide Investigation

MONTGOMERY —The Montgomery Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation following the Thursday afternoon shooting death of Jonvontae Goode, 22, of Montgomery.

MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 1900 block of Hilldale Drive on Thursday, Jan. 30, at about 5 p.m. in reference to a subject shot. At the scene, they located Goode who had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The circumstances remain under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time, and no additional information is available for release in connection to this continuing investigation.
